If you enter the wrong passcode in to an iOS device six times in a
row, you'll be locked out and a message will say that your device is disabled.
Today, you will learn a common solution for an iPhone problem when you forget
your passcode. Apple explains how to unlock the iPhone if you have forgotten
the passcode or password in the manual for each model. For the iPhone 5c, for
example, it is provided on page 155 as well as on the company support site. Many
people tend to forget their passcode after some time of using their device.
Some passcodes are so effective that even you can't remember what they are. If
you've locked yourself out of your iPhone, it's not too complicated to get back
in. Here are the steps to do and the things you need to bring your iPhone to
life again
Things you need for the
process:
·
You need to download iTunes on a PC or Mac
·
iPad or iPhone charging cable, it could be a
lightning cable or a 30-pin cable.
·
You will also need a little time for the process
because it may take you 1 to 3 hours depending on your internet connection.
Step 1: If you have already
downloaded iTunes, open iTunes from your Pc or Mac.
Step 2: While your iPhone is still connected to your computer
reboot your iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons at the same time.
As soon as the Apple logo appears, let go of the power button but keep the home
button depressed until you see a “Connect to iTunes” message appear on the
iPhone screen.
Step 3: You need to plug
your iPhone charging cable to the USB port on your Mac or PC, the USB end of
the charging cable goes into the USB port of the computer.
Step 4: Press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release when you see the
Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
Step 5: A prompt will
appear and you will need to click “restore”, after clicking restore, a second
prompt will appear and you need to click “restore and update” and the latest
software will be downloaded on your iPhone. You just have to wait an hour or so
for the process to finish, it depends on how fast your internet connection is
for the process.
After this process, your iPhone should be restored with the information
from its last backup, but it no longer will have the passcode enabled. It would
be wise to think carefully before setting another passcode or using the
passcode feature again.
